Notary services are available for free at the Northfield Public Library. Please contact us at 507-645-6606 to confirm Notary staff are available before you arrive. You will need to bring a valid photo ID.
Please note: Exam proctoring is not available during this time. We encourage you to limit your stay and observe social distance guidelines while in the library building.
The library offers exam proctoring for a fee of $15.00 per exam with at least a 24 hour notice. The library will proctor exams only during open hours, including evenings and Saturdays, but not on Sundays. Students must present a valid photo ID at the time of the exam. Please see the librarian on duty at the Help Desk upstairs to make arrangements for test proctoring or call (507) 645-1802. Click here for our proctoring policy.
The library has two photocopiers, one on each level. Documents can be scanned to either a USB or to a staff computer. Scanning is a free service. A flatbed scanner is available in the Genealogy area on the second floor.
The charge for copies is $0.15 per page for standard sized black and white and $1.00 per page for color.
We have a computer projector available to check out for 24 hours at a time. A $50 deposit and valid library card in good standing are required. To reserve one, call the library at (507) 645-1802 or see the librarian at the Help Desk upstairs.
The library is able to obtain materials from within, and outside, the SELCO library system. Our borrowing region is primarily within the state of Minnesota (MNLINK), but we can also access materials from Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Interlibrary loan is a free service, but there are select instances where charges may apply. Please inquire at the Help Desk upstairs if you have any questions. Click here to read the policy.
The library orders a limited number of federal tax forms which usually arrive in January. Please note that the State of Minnesota no longer distributes state tax forms to public libraries. Staff can print forms and instructions, or patrons can use public internet computers to find and print forms. Copies are $0.15 per page. To order state and federal tax forms, go to the Minnesota Department of Revenue and the IRS.
