‚ÄčStorytime!

Join us for early literacy-focused storytimes with lots of music and movement, held in the Bunday Meeting Room on the library's lower level. While storytimes are geared towards the ages listed, siblings are always welcome.

10 am Tuesdays -- Baby Storytime

For babies birth-24 mos and their caregivers. We'll share books, songs, rhymes, and movement for ~20 minutes, followed by plenty of time to socialize and play.
1
0 am Wednesdays AND Thursdays -- Family Storytime

For children aged 2-6 years and their caregivers. We'll share books, songs, rhymes, and movement that build early literacy skills--and we'll find out what the Secret Letter of the Day is! Come to one or both days (program may be the same).

Grow a Kindergartner

The more books (and words) young children have heard, the better prepared they are to learn to read. Planting Seeds Before Kindergarten is a Northfield-wide program that encourages families and caregivers to read 1,000 books with young children before they enter kindergarten. Books shared in storytime count, too! Children will be rewarded for every 100 books they read. Information & reading records are available at Northfield Public Library, ECFE, and Longfellow School.
